Prior to becoming a consultant Ian was a senior manager for a major global oil company with responsibility for all IT in the UK, including a group-wide ERP installation, before specialising in retail systems for 2,000 service stations across Europe, many of which had significant shops, restaurants and other retail units. Most outlets were independent businesses reliant on networked corporate IT facilities. Previously, Ian was European MIS Director for a division of the US-based CBS Leisure Group where his diplomatic and managerial skills were required to integrate French, German, UK and US marketing, manufacturing and supply systems into one global operation. Ian originally trained and qualified as an accountant and held a number of positions before becoming Finance Director of a UK toy manufacturing company. His professional affiliations include membership of the Association of Certified Accountants (FCCA), Institute of Petroleum (M Inst. P), Association of Retail Technical Standards, National Retail Federation, and others.
